30 Things To Do Before I'm 30

Ladies and Gents, today is my 28th and a half birthday!! Now I don’t tend to celebrate half birthdays, I’m not the queen, it’s just brought me to the shocking realisation that in 18 months I shall be turning 30. THIRTY!!! This terrifies me for numerous reasons. I think this is partly due to the fact I think in my head I’m still 17, I certainly don’t feel mature enough to be nearly 30. 10 years ago if you asked me what I thought I would be doing ten years from now my reply would have been along the lines of ‘be in a job I love, own a house, married with babies’, damn you Disney for making me want the fairy tale! Instead of any of this I’m nearly 30 and live in my parents loft and am in a bit of a rut. I guess I also thought I would have achieved a lot more by now. Don’t me wrong I have no regrets, I don’t believe them and have had the most awesome experiences, travelled to some incredible places so I really can’t complain. My life is pretty great I just need some changes and new challenges as I’m a bit lost at the moment.

I also better state for the record that I don’t think turning 30 is the end of the world, I fully intend to embrace it, I just feel like life has been a bit stagnant lately so want to insert some fun into my life and turn things up a notch.
So for all the reasons above I have created a bucket list, a list of 30 things I would love to achieve before I turn 30. It’s a wide variety of things that I have wanted to do for a while but for whatever reason have been a lame ass and haven’t done yet. They are all things that I think will help me make the most of life and make me a better person...
1.    Start dating... my love life is drier than the Sahara desert, mainly due to the fact I don’t put myself out there.

2.    Go indoor skydiving

3.    Cook one dish a week from scratch... I live off toast at the mo....

4.    Say yes more! To any opportunities that come my way.

5.    Learn to long board

6.    Try a roller derby

7.    Visit Disney World in Florida.

8.    Start a ‘grateful’ diary and record 3 things I am happy for every day.

9.    Buy a house.

10.  Try Paddle boarding.

11.  Start a successful Etsy Shop – I’ve started this one already but my aim is to make it successful!

12.  Write a book

13.  Live abroad for a month

14.  Get down to a clothing size 12

15.  Run a 10k

16.  Do a painting on a canvas

17.  Go to a music festival

18.  Visit Machu Piccu

19.  Fall in love and be loved

20.  See the northern lights

21.  Visit Ireland

22.  Try Wakeboarding

23.  Start an art class

24.  Learn to Surf

25.  Learn another language

26.  Learn the ukulele

27.  Figure out some sort of career path and be happy with whatever it may be.

28.  Make a drift wood coffee table

29.  Read one book every month

30.  Go to New Zealand

I don’t know if I can or if funds will allow me to achieve all of these but I am definitely going to try my hardest to make this all happen! I will try and do a few blogs to keep you in the loop as I go along with this journey. Wish me luck!!

  1. I hope you manage to do all of these! Ireland is such a lovely place, we are going back there early next year and in a few years I'm hoping to move there!
I also really want to see the northern lights but I want to go to Norway to do it as I think it would be such a lovely place :-)
Let us know how you get on x

    1. Where abouts in Ireland are you planning on moving to? I really want to do the cheesy touristy thing of having a Guiness in Dublin and visiting the Giants Causeway! xxx

  2. Ah! You and I are the same age!
While I don't feel 28, i keep forgetting my age. Some days, i feel older, some days, younger.
I do find your list is quite extensive for just 18months, but I do wish you the very best!

By the way, I love your blog name!

    Angie x

    1. Haha I am exactly the same! Always tell people im 27, and I feel like im still 17. Yes its pretty extensive but im aiming to do at least half or get the ball rolling for some of the more elaborate bits! xxx

  3. I'd love to see the northern lights too! I'll be celebrating my second 22 next week ;)
I did the 30 before 30 tag a few months ago, if you fancy a read?
    Kirsty xo

I want to do everything on your list! Especially own a pair of louboutins!!! xxx

  4. Great bucket list! I live in Ireland and if you plan coming here, I recommend going to Dublin but if you're looking for a more peaceful stay Killarney is a nice place. Good luck with your list :) x

    1. Thanks lovely! Yes Dublin would definitely be my first stop then id want to travel about a bit and see as much as I can! xx

  5. I'm with you on literally alllll of these, especially the Northern Lights.
Let's just get up and go xxx

  6. Nice list! Some pretty interesting things on there! I've wanted to do indoor skydiving and see the Northern Lights for soo long, just need to do it, and stop saying "one day..."

    Love this post!
    Ameera x

    1. I think ive set a date for my indoor sky dive... November! so excited for it!

Haha I am terribly guilty of putting things off and saying 'one day...' hence why I made this public to give me a bit of a push! xxx

  7. I definitely want to do a lot of those things before I'm 30 as well. I hope you do all of them!

I'm 21 now and most of what you said you thought you would've accomplished by 30, I think that too. I think we just put too much pressure on ourselves based on what we see other people doing.
I find interesting that you say you don't feel mature enough for your age. Recently I've felt the same way, when I was younger I definitely thought of someone my age being an "adult" and I absolutely do not feel that way. I feel like I should, but I don't. I don't think we ever feel like we're mature enough, I don't think something ever "clicks" like that. Which might be good! It's good that we never have it completely figured out.
    Great post!

  8. Great list and a fab idea. Good luck. x

  9. Awesome post, and I love your list! Inspired me to do a few things off there I think haha xo

    1. Thanks Emma! Youll have to let me know if you do any of them! xx

  10. Love how honest you are within your writing, and this is such a great list. I'm 21 but have a lot of the same things on my bucket list (which only exists in my head at the moment). I have reckon you can do these things, but especially suggest you visit Disneyworld in Florida, it's a literal dream! x

    1. Thank you Bekka! Disneyworld is somewhere ive wanted to visit since I was little, thinking I may try and save to be there for my actual 30th! :) xxx
